Augustl
Meeting
Greetings to all Members
for the new TTOS year of 2018/2019.
Apologies for the
late delivery of this notice, the Committee is having
difficulty confirming available venues for monthly meetings. We will
appreciate any suggestions you may have of possible venues that can be
available for Sunday Meetings.
The August
Monthly Meeting will be held at Room C of the Sir Frank
Stockdale Building on the Campus of the University of the West Indies,
St Augustine, at 10 AM Sunday the 19th.
Entry to the Campus is through the north eastern gate off Agostini St.,
-enter and turn right immediately,
- turn right again at the next corner,
- follow the road to a T junction,
- then turn left, the road then forms a y,
- keep left and you are in front of the Sir Frank Stockdale Building.
Google
maps shows an excellent map of the Campus.
The topic for the
meeting will be a Video presentation on Mexican
Cattleyas interpreted for local growing conditions by our well know
grower Curtis Lutchman.
Please bring along
your blooming orchids for the Show Table, remember
new members (persons in their first year of membership) compete for a
separate plant prize. Cattleya species and hybrids will be of
particular interest to see how they compare with the Mexican species
shown in the Video presentation.
Please come
along and meet your new Committee members.
Member's
choice at the July AGM was Cymbidium Tapioca Tundra ( Cymbidium Golden
Elf x Cymbidium insignis) owned by Moses and Shantie Samuel. An example
of a very warm growing hybrid.
