TTOS Christmas
Luncheon 2015 - UPDATE
There will be no monthly
meeting for November 2015.
Due to unforeseen
circumstances a change in venue for the Society's Christmas luncheon on
Sunday December 13th 2015 is necessary. It will now be held at the residence
of the President Anis Baig at 1181 Sweet Slope Road, Block 7, Palmiste
from 10am.
There will be no cost for members to attend, please advise on your attendance
for catering purposes.
Directions:
-Heading south on the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, exit at Debe.
-Take third exit on the round-a-bout to Duncan/ Dumfries.
-Continue straight at second round-a-bout. Turn right at sign San Fernando.
-Continue along roadway. Landmarks - Docs Ranch, Rituals and other businesses.
Turn left after WelMart Pharmacy.
-Turn
right onto Palmiste Blvd.
-Continue
to dual carriage way. At the 'T' junction turn left (land mark - yellow
house on the right).
-Cross four road humps, there will be a play ground on the left. Take
first left after the play ground, Sweet Slope Road.
-The meeting is at the fourth house on the left.
There
will be signs at the turns with 'TTOS Meeting'.

January
2016 Monthly meeting will be held on Sunday 17, at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary.

Monthly
Show Table
.
There will be the usual monthly show table so do bring along your flowering
orchids to be judged The judging committee would like an early start to
the judging by 10.00 am in order to be able to complete the judging before
lunch is served.
Door Prize
There will be a door
prize at this year's Christmas luncheon.
Annual Orchid Show 2015
The just concluded
Society's 58th Annual Orchid Show which took place at the Ambassador Hotel
in St. James on Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November 2015 was
enjoyable and very successful.
The Show was opened by the First Lady Mrs.Reema Carmona on Saturday October
31st. 2015
There were many displays including one from our sister society in Barbados,
The Barbados Orchid Society.
The Judges of the Trinidad & Tobago Orchid Society awarded a trophy
for the best display at this year's show to the President of the Society
Mr. Anis Nail Baig, who also won this trophy in 2013 and 2014 for his
displays.
Congratulations to Mr. Baig and all the other participants who received
awards for their winning exhibits.
Prize
Giving.
Awards from the Annual
Orchid Show which was held on October 31st and November 1st 2015 will
be presented to the participants at the Society's luncheon on December
13th 2015.
Other
There will be the introduction of "Beginners' Corner" at the
monthly meetings; this is to assist new members and other members who
require information with regards to the growing of orchids.
