The Society will be staging an Orchid Show ‘An Orchid Celebration’ on May 6th and 7th 2006 at the Auditorium of the St. Joseph Convent, Harris Promenade, San-Fernando. We look forward to the support of all members as exhibitors and to provide much needed assistance for the many activities in the orchid show. Entries of flowering orchids will be accepted on Friday May 5th 2006 during the hours of 3.00 p.m. and 9.00 p.m. only There will be an exception for flower arrangements and corsages which will be accepted on Saturday morning before 8.30 a.m. A show schedule is attached for your information and guidance. Tickets are available for sale and members are requested to assist in the pre selling of tickets. Kindly contact the Show Chairperson, Mrs. Percil Nock Boyce at Tel. 665-1476. The show will open to the public at 10.00 a.m. on both days. There will be sale of plants and accessories for growing orchids. A Tea stall will serve tea on both days as well as brunch on Sunday morning. We hope to see many members participating in order to make this a very successful show.

The Society has won a Gold Medal for their exhibit at the HSTT Show held in March 2006 at the St. John Ambulance Brigade Hall on Wrightson Road. We wish to thank all members who contributed plants for the show, those who assisted in the set-up of the display, and those who took responsibility on the days of the show to be at the booth to greet and to assist visitors to the show.

Fiftieth (50th) Year Anniversary Celebrations.

In celebration of our fiftieth (50th) year anniversary, the society looks forward to full participation by all members. Many activities are being planned and we need members to take responsibility and to assist. We are requesting that members who have artifacts of the Society to share it with us as this can be of great value in tracing and recording the history of the society. Any member who has artifacts they are willing to share can contact Joan Hampton or Diane Huggins.

Library Corner
Our Librarian will be present at monthly meetings in his corner, and members are requested to return all overdue books. New members please note that the facility of the Library is available to all members and we encourage you to utilize its services rated as one of the best Orchid Libraries in the Caribbean.
