November 2012 Monthly Meeting.

This meeting will be held on Sunday November 18th 2012 at the St. Xavier's Primary School in St. Joseph. To get there you go along the Eastern Main Road to St. Joseph, turn into St Joseph Road at the traffic lights at the Eastern Credit Union La Joya Complex and take a right turn at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church then a left turn onto a short intersection and then a right turn that leads into the premises of St Xavier's Primary School.

Monthly Show Table

There will be the monthly show table so do bring along your flowering orchids for judging.

Monthly Plant Raffle

There will be a raffle of a water bottle and the price will be $5.00 a chance.

Annual Orchid Show 2012

The just concluded Society's 55th. Annual Orchid Show which took place on Saturday October 13th and Sunday October 14th 2012 at the National Academy of Performing Arts "Hotel Lobby" was a huge success despite the inclement weather that was experienced on the second day of the Show Sunday October 14th 2012.

Christmas Brunch/Lunch 2012.

The Society's annual Christmas luncheon will take place on Sunday December 9th 2012 at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary Wildlife Centre at 10.00am.
To get to this venue you turn off the Uriah Butler Highway onto the Caroni Flyover exit and proceed west onto the road leading to the Caroni Swamp and visitors centre.
Members traveling southbound on the highway will proceed west onto the flyover, while those travelling northbound will exit west directly onto the road leading to the venue.
The lunch promises to have all the trimmings of the traditional Christmas menu. The cost per Christmas Lunch ticket is $125.00 per person for members as well as guests, drinks will be provided.
Tickets will be available at the November monthly meeting at St. Xavier's Primary School and afterwards by the Committee Members.
The Management Committee would appreciate the assistance of members to assist in setting up the tables and to bring any table decorations to enhance the venue; volunteers would be requested to be on the site by 9.30 am
Donations of ginger beer, Ponche de Crème and sorrel will be appreciated which can be brought to the venue on the day of the luncheon.
There will be the usual monthly Show Table, so do bring along your flowering orchids.
The Judging committee would like an early start to the judging by 10.00am in order to be able to complete the judging before lunch is served.

Other

The Society has accepted an invitation from the Grenada Orchid Society to participate in their Show carded for 24th and 25th November 2012.
Members wishing to go to Grenada are advised that the air-fare is $1,500.00 hotel accommodation is US $156.00 per night double occupancy with breakfast.

The Society is also appealing for cut flowers for the TTOS display at the Show; cut flowers should be brought to the HSTT headquarters on Thursday 22nd November 2012, as these flowers have to be packed for travelling to Grenada the following morning Friday 23rd. November 2012.
