November 2010 Monthly Meeting

The monthly meeting will be held on Sunday November 21st 2010 at 10.00 am at the Pointe a Pierre Wild Fowl Trust, Petrotrin, Point a Pierre.
Members coming from the north will turn off the Solomon Hochoy Highway at the Gasparillo turn off and proceed right into Point a Pierre. Members coming from the South can access from the Southern Main Road, there will be signs indicating the entrance to Wild Fowl Trust.

At the entrance gate you must show your membership badge to the guard for entry.
Members who do not have their badges will have to pay the entrance fee.
Members who would like to donate any native species plants that they have in their possession, can bring them along to be attached to trees in the secured environment of the Wild Fowl Trust.
The Wild Fowl Trust continues to be a partner in preservation and conservation of the the Environment.
Members are advised to wear tracking clothes and shoes, they are also requested to bring picnic baskets with food and drinks and lots of water.

Christmas Lunch December 2010

The Society's annual Christmas Lunch will take place on Sunday 12th December 2010 at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary Wildlife Centre at 10.00 am
To get to this venue you turn off the Uriah Butler Highway onto the Caroni Flyover exit and proceed west onto the road leading to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary Wildlife Centre.
Members traveling southbound on the highway will proceed west onto the flyover, while those traveling northbound will exit west directly onto the road leading to the venue.
The lunch promises to have all the trimmings of the traditional Christmas menu. The cost per Christmas lunch ticket is $120.00 per person for members as well as guests. Drinks will be provided.
Tickets should be available at the November Monthly meeting at the Wild Fowl Trust and after wards from the committee members. Members who would like to donate ginger beer, Ponche de Crème and sorrel can advise the committee of their intentions.
Members who would like to have an exchange of Christmas gifts at the Christmas Luncheon should bring a gift with a tag indicating who it is from. Members who would like to be on the decorating committee can contact Sharon Ramjit-Mohammed at 685-6087 for further information.

Other

The Society's display at the H.S.T.T. Exhibition & Plant Sale on October 30th & 31st 2010 was a big success, thanks to the committee led by Sharon Ramjit-Mohammed. The Society wishes to thank all the members who contributed plants and cut flowers, and also those who assisted with setting up the display.
