October 2010 Monthly Meeting

The meeting will be held on Sunday October 17th 2010 at 10.00 am at the St. Xavier Primary School in St. Joseph. To get there you go along the Eastern Main Road to St. Joseph, turn into St. Joseph Road at the traffic lights at the Eastern Credit Union La Joya Complex and take a right turn at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, then a left turn onto a short intersection and then a right turn that leads right into the premises of St. Xavier Primary School

Monthly Show Table/Plant Raffle

There will be the usual monthly show table, so bring along your flowering orchids. An Orchid Plant will be raffled.

Open Forum Members are invited to participate.

Monthly Newsletters

The cost of photocopying and mailing monthly newsletters is approximately $200.00 per month. The Society can reduce this cost by members submitting their names and e-mail addresses to the Secretary, so that the newsletter can be sent to them via e-mail.
At the October Monthly Meeting a form will be circulated so that members can submit the required information.

H.S.T.T. Exhibition and Plant Sale

(1) The Horticultural Society of Trinidad & Tobago has sent an invitation to the Society to participate in their Exhibition and Plant Sale at its headquarters on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October 2010 commencing at 9.00am.
The Trinidad & Tobago Orchid Society has accepted the invitation and will be participating in this event.
We are therefore appealing for flowering Orchid plants or cut Orchid flowers for the Society to do a display. These plants/ flowers are required for Friday October 29th 2010 for the setting up of the display. The committee would like all plants and flowers by Thursday October 28th 2010 or early on the morning of Friday 29th October 2010.
Gopaul Chackan will collect plants and flowers from members from the South.
Joan Hampton will collect plants and flowers from Central.
Diane Huggins will collect plants and flowers from North.
(2 The Society's Annual Christmas Brunch will take place at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary, details will be provided at the November monthly meeting.
