The Meeting will be held on Sunday September 23rd 2007, at 10.00 a.m. at the St. Xavier Primary School in St. Joseph. To get there you go along the Eastern Main Road to St. Joseph, turn into St. Joseph Road at the traffic lights at the Eastern Credit Union La Joya Complex and take a right turn at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, then a left turn onto a short intersection and then a right turn that leads right into the premises of the St. Xavier Primary School. This meeting will feature the monthly show table, a discussion on the upcoming October 2007 Orchid Show by the Show Chairman Mr. Robin Naipaul, and useful tips on how to prepare plants and orchid blooms for competitive exhibit at the October 2007 Orchid Show.

TTOS Orchid Show October 6th and 7th 2007

The Society will stage its main orchid show on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October 2007 at the Ambassador Hotel, Long Circular Road, St. James. The show will open to the public between the hours of 9.00 a.m and 6.00 p.m. on both days. The theme for this show is 'NATURE'S JEWELS'. International and local orchid vendors will participate.

Members are encouraged to enter named plants for ribbon competition and AOS Judging. Entries will be accepted Thursday the 4th October in the afternoon from 4 pm.
Members are reminded the prize giving ceremony will be held Saturday at Trini Fiesta. You may contact Committee members for tickets.

Student Judges Program
A new Student Judge Program is due to commence soon and Members who are interested are invited to apply.
Members must fulfill the following requirements:

• Must be 18 years and over
• Be a member of the Society for at least 3 years and in good standing
• Must have at least 5 orchid genera growing in their orchid collection
• Is an above average member
• Would be required to undergo an interview
• Must undergo a color perception test

Members interested in joining the Student Judge Program must submit a written application to the Secretary on or before September 15th 2007.

Orchid Show October 2007

The upcoming Orchid Show will be held on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October, 2007 at the Ambassador Hotel on Long Circular Road, St. James. The theme chosen for this show is 'Nature's Jewels'.

Help is required for the many activities of the show and members can volunteer their assistance to the Show Chairman Mr. Robin Naipaul Tel. 640-1455.

The show features the usual orchid competition and members should get prepared to enter their plants at the show and compete for the many prizes and awards available.

There will be the usual vendor's booths. Members wishing to be vendors at this event should contact the Show Chairman to book early as space is limited.
